Half Drop repeat- created by splitting to motif in half along its horizontal axis and placing it on the edge of the page. Then copy a whole motif beside it - thus creating a working pattern.

Toss repeat- created by created 4 square quadrants on the page. Using the bottom arrange the motifs randomly. Then cut and paste any sections of the motif sticking out in the other 3 quadrants to it's directly opposite side in the 4th quadrant. This creates a square working pattern that should match up with filled into a larger space creating a toss repeat.
